Rule Builder

The NextNine platform includes an embedded rule builder application that allows service organizations to quickly and easily define and deploy rules to service their specific products. The rule builder includes a wizard for specifying WHAT data to collect, HOW to collect it, WHEN to collect it, how to ANALYZE it and which WORKFLOW should be triggered.


NextNine’s rule builder is easy and intuitive allowing support engineers to write rules in days, not weeks or months! The superior interface removes much of the complexity from developing and maintaining these rules. Simple rules can be defined using the rule builder’s point-and-click wizard. Even the most complex of rules requires no more than basic scripting knowledge.


The rule builder's main features include:

  • Multiple data collection modules – out-of-the-box support for several standard protocols (FTP, SNMP, SQL, Telnet, SSH, OPC, WMI and more). Custom or proprietary protocols can easily be developed using scripts.
  • Powerful analysis – define complex thresholds and alarms, ensuring the right people will be notified when, and only when, your products in the field require attention.
  • Rapid deployment – deploy new rules to multiple customer sites and/or multiple products at a click of a button.
  • Version control – easily manage rules for different product lines and product versions. This provides your support engineers with a unified experience, regardless of what product or version of a product they are remotely servicing.
